Description

Melo and Rudy Gay get into the 65-game rule and why it doesn’t sit right with players. They break down how voting now directly impacts player bonuses, contracts, and long-term earning potential, and why that shouldn’t be in the hands of media. They also get into whether players should be the ones voting on awards and what needs to change moving forward. #CarmeloAnthony #LukaDoncic #CadeCunningham #RudyGay #NBA #7PMInBrooklyn . . . Jaylen Brown shouldn’t be snubbed for Cade when he was in the MVP race all season too AND played 71 games. What’s being over looked is the fact players sat games early in the season long before they were in danger of ineligibility and it bit them in the ass

These dudes these dudes have lost touch with reality how can you be upset that you don’t win awards because you’re not playing games. You get paid to PLAY it’s no way guys could suit up back in the day almost every night and yall are struggling to play 65 with less back to backs while flying private.

The players agreed to it, I would make them stick to it

Let’s say cade Cunningham made the all NBA first team this year after missing 25% of the games hypothetically speaking if the 2026 all NBA first team played the 2001 all NBA first team Cade could only play 3 quarters of the game and yall are telling me he should be first team

Let’s be honest. These new players are trying to play for 15-20 years. That’s not how the body was made to work. It’s suppose to be rare with the stress placed on the body. While now they are trying to get all the money they can while watering the product

asking players to show up to work 80% of the time should NOT be that controversial. if people are legimately hurt (cade, luka, etc.) then you can treat that on a case by case basis, but let's not forget all of the healthy players that were just sitting out games and collecting a check - THAT'S what got us to this point

THE TEAMS BROUGHT THE RULE FOR THEMSELVES.

if they let players vote you should make there be a scoring/playmaking percentage or defensive percentage requirement for your vote to mean something. I think those things matter a lot
