Pop is the greatest! Good good human being. We should all strive to emulate Pop's humanity.
So many stories of the love Pop showed to his players, he truly cares for them as people. Rare quality for a boss nowadays.
Pop was solid for that
Pop looking out for a player and doing that, it’s basically asking for a promise he has an actual deal if he lets him go. Pop gained nothing from it but respect, and at best a favor down the line in terms of D’Antoni and whoever was with the Knicks front office. This is partially why ppl like and respect pop the way they do. Pop is a good dude
I dropped 70 with Novak on 2k11 or 12
Pop did the same thing with Boban. The spurs could only offer boban a 1 year deal and he really liked San Antonio and wanted to come back. Another team offered Boban a longer term deal with the same amount annually as the spurs. Basically Pop said we love you Boban but you have to take that other deal. Pop was looking out for him.
This a fire story 💯 players always respect Coach Pop
