As a former teacher I can tell you that for some of my students the free lunch was their only meal of the day!

As someone who teaches in a low socioeconomic area, it's ridiculous to think people dont know how many kids go hungry in the USA everyday. For some of my students, school lunch is the only nutritious, hot meal they get all day. Breaks my heart to think about it and lots of people are so detached and lack empathy.

The inequality in the US is insane. No wonder the country has been destabilized 😢

I was working full time at FedEx and I had to apply for food stamps. I remember digging through couch cushions and under the seat of my car trying to find money to feed the kids. I was divorced from an abusive man who dodged child support orders. This revolts me.
