I asked Youtube about the answer in the title of the video, because it looked like 43 minutes is too much to answer that. And the answer (from AI used by Youtube) was: "In the video, Anjali Viramgama emphasizes that there is no single "magic bullet" to getting hired. Instead, her success came from exponentially increasing her efforts and treating job hunting as a multi-pronged strategy" Thank you.
This is great video and great information.
1st? Much love from Jamaica!

37:37 So her advice on going to university applies only to the top tier universities in bug tech hubs of USA. At the specific time when there is abundance of money provided to companies from banks
The way to make someone standout is to be genuine, curious and proactive. It's antithesis to follow advice from a YouTube video because some folks will blindly follow the advice (work at fast food restaurant, approach profs for research work etc). When I went to university, looking for research work as a summer job was a niche that was not appealing. Jobs to work on some VB script for a bank made more sense and useful for a computer science undergrad. I took a summer job working for a professor at my school for two summers, got my graduate degree and was connected for my first job. Nowadays, undergrad students are hunting for research opportunities because they heard it's a viable path.
10:45 "I applied to so many", turns out just around 100. And it was possible to get into Apple, Meta, Microsoft. Crazy times
23 min timestamp - great point.
Hi, Steve. Love your channel. It would be nice to see someday you talk about the water consumption of AI or about a recent study from MIT about the "delusional spiraling"
