Not Chamath's nervous chuckle whenever a fraudulent firm is mentioned
I did not hear anything about short investing
"Nothing new under the sun" is from Ecclesiastes.
Loved when her credited some guy with the term “nothing new under the sun”… Funny, have heard that somewhere before…… oh yes that’s right written by the richest man on earth at the time. Ecclesiastes 1:9 New International Version 9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
25:13 Chamath lookin' very Mr. Burns
Investing either shorts or longs has it's own language and conceptual framework, it takes money.
Any relationship to The Miscreant's Ball?
Props to Dan Loeb! His comments around 24:50 reminded me of Girodet's Scène de déluge: the capable young man is the engine—muscular, straining upward. But he is crippled by the deadweight of those clinging with a death grip, purse in hand, refusing to let go of the past's valuables; his wife collapsing; the child dependent. The tree is snapping. Everyone drowns together. Girodet himself described people entrusting their fate to "rotten supports" amid social tempests.
Thanks for the talk.
Love billionaires and their concerns for income inequality- very touching
