The idea that junior staff at a publishers can shut down publication of a book is preposterous. They should have been instantly dismissed.
When it comes to historical guilt, I'm with Douglas Murray when he said: 'I don't apologise for things I didn't do'.
I really fear for the future, when the young people of today, dont want to hear, what a professor of Ethics has to say.
The good manners, gentleness and respect you both embody here make this a thing of beauty. Respectful conversations and the freedom to discuss and learn are crucial to mankind.
The truth is only problematic for liars.
All society is being dragged through hell.
A wonderful discussion. A man of integrity, humility and charm. Thank you
A huge thank you to Professor Nigel Biggar for such a rigorous and incredibly moving conversation. His reflections on his wife, Ginny, and his 'wager on God' at the end (56:30) really stayed with me. I know many of you felt the same—what was your biggest takeaway from today's episode? Also, please do check out Nigel’s books in the description below; after the 'cancellation' attempts he’s faced, he truly deserves the support of this community! - Support the show's sponsors! Important conversation about freedom of speech & the forces trying to shut it down.
Really interesting and refreshing to hear intelligent conversation not littered with the F-word.
