As a white South African, born in the 80s and raised in the heart of the Zulu kingdom, a speaker of the Zulu language, who has moved away from the violence and uncertainty of my homeland, I can tell you that my heart has never stopped breaking ever since I stepped foot off that land. All I've ever wanted to see is every South African, no matter their tribe, be happy, prosperous, and safe. Salani kahle abantu bami.

I met a woman years ago at an engagement dinner, friends & family from afar from both sides of the families. Even though the guest was easily in her early 50s, it was clear she was still struggling with severe ptsd, she jumped at absolutely everything. From little ones running around to cutlery being clanked & completely unable to hold a conversation without being on constant high-alert. I was only 15yrs old at the time but I was told, her & her sister were the only ones who survived, they were attacked at night on their farm, their mother hid them under the kitchen table while their father was being unalived outside. The house was set alight & their mother gave the girls enough time to get away. They eventually settled here in the UK but her young sister resided permanently in a mental institute. Although I was only a teen, it really struck a nerve with me & I've never forgotten their story of barely surviving 😔

I'm sure Katie Hopkins did a documentary on the killing of South African farmers years ago, before she was cancelled. I didn't realise the extent of the corruption and that the torture was still going on. Very interesting guest and great interview.

Blacks in South Africa didn't say, "Let's end apartheid." They said, "It's our turn now."
