I’m so so tired of hearing about men’s “mommy issues” and them using it as a “defense” after killing their girlfriends. While we’re here, the “rough sex” defense also makes me so so angry and I’m sick of hearing it.

She was stabbed over 70 times after he stalked her?! We really need to have laws to protect women from stalking…this whole “we can’t do anything until he tries to hurt you” doesn’t fly with me! Poor Molly never had a chance😢

This happened 30 mins from where I live, it’s a very very busy shopping centre that I have been to many times. It was absolutely horrific what he did to that poor beautiful girl

Mental Health therapist here. BPD and Bipolar... they don't excuse murder. They don't CAUSE murder. It sounded like you mentioned his defense were somehow trying to argue that so I thought I would attempt to reduce the stigma.

It's such a viscous cycle going through an abusive relationship like this. There's always too many 'one last chances '.

I had an ex who behaved like this. His own father was a cop & told me to get a restraining order but I couldn’t because I didn’t have a sufficient “paper trail”. I ended up moving over an hour away. I think it’s probably the only thing that ultimately thwarted any further stalking & escalation in violence. He held me at gun point 2x and held a knife to my throat once and told me “if I killed you here and now no one would Find you for days.” I feel terrible for this young lady. It’s horrible that the police couldn’t do much of anything before things escalated. Sincerely f**k scumbags like Joshua.

How come the police are never held accountable for their lack of DOING THEIR EFFING JOB

When I was in drivers ed our instructor told us a story about how a guy got in her car while she was stopped at a red light. She stressed day 1 how important it is to lock your doors even if youre just sitting in the car. Its one of those things that have stuck with me over a decade later

Annie, I was a young widow raising three young boys when I briefly dated a man who, at first, seemed perfect. He had three girls, and together it felt like our own little Brady Bunch. But things became uncomfortable and strange very quickly. After I ended the relationship, the stalking began — and it continued even after I clearly asked him to stop. I reached out to the Martinez Police Department, where a detective listened, took my report seriously, and personally made a call on my behalf. At first, the stalker treated it like a joke, until the call came again and he realized it was a legitimate warning from law enforcement telling him to leave me alone. I’m grateful to live in a small community that truly advocates for the safety of its citizens. I’ve always tried to give back to my community, and in that moment, it meant so much to have someone step in and genuinely care. I was fortunate to receive the help we needed, and I hope more police departments begin taking stalking much more seriously — because it is serious.
