Description

Russell’s sharp wit and magnetic persona propelled him to world fame, with international comedy tours and Hollywood movies. But then, around 2012, Russell publicly decided to step back from the limelight and focus on a more spiritual and political journey. From documentaries about his addiction to political activism, Brand has dramatically re-focused his efforts. In this episode, we dive into his beliefs and what he wants to achieve through activism, our agreements and disagreements on human nature, how universalism plays out in reality, and our experiences as fathers. Russell Brand, a decent human being. Ben Shapiro, a decent human being. Two gentlemen having a civil conversation about the issues. Ahhhhhh things I've missed.

People of different opinions talking to each other peacefully is called society, I'm so glad that still exists.

This just demonstrates why perspectives of both sides is needed for legitimate discourse. Russell really embodies a sense of openness and self reflection on what it means to be authentic; whereas Ben seems to be really pragmatic in the application of values to the various levels/structures of society. Both are needed. Both are important. Love that there was respect for one another and that the tone/pace allowed for deeper reflection

This show is put together sooo much better than 99% of what you will see on the "mainstream" networks. Extremely professional setup combined with actually interesting people.

I disliked the Hollywood Russell Brand. I find myself listening to him more and more. Thanks for having him on, Ben.

The mere existence of interviews like this gives me hope. Neither man attempting to steer the conversation towards conflict, talking over each other, judging each other or trying to catch the other out in various ways. Instead, they are listening to each other and it’s clear that each is open to the possibility of learning something from the other. More conversations like this please!!

When he and Katy Perry got divorced... he was entitled to millions of her money but he declined and said that was hers.... thats why I'll always have respect for him

When conversations stop that’s the worst sign of all.
