The "Inflation Reduction Act" is actually a lot worse when you look at it from a layman's(low/middle class) perspective. Let's look at transportation focused areas of the "IRA". - EV credits, incentivize the purchasing of electric vehicles which are more expensive than traditional gasoline vehicles. Meaning higher auto loan balances. - Oil taxes, the IRA reinstates oil taxes not put in place since the 90's AND expands that tax to domestic oil production. Meaning higher cost to drive traditional gasoline vehicles. This is going to make transportation costs for low and middle class people go way up. You need to also keep in mind that even if you buy an EV, electricity costs are skyrocketing across the nation which is making that EV purchase even more difficult. The low and middle class are getting hammered by the rich, who are the ones buying most of the EVs because many utilities justification for rate increases are to upgrade the electricity transmission infrastructure in order to meet the demand the EVs are placing on the grid. TL:DR - It is simply more Democrat elitist crap.

Another bill that addresses the wrong thing or worsens the real problems. I'm shocked.

Just like like the PATRIOT Act, anytime congress passes some good sounding bill you can pretty much guarantee it's the exact opposite of whatever label they put on it.

The "Grow Government and Debt Bill"? The "Weaken Our Energy Policy to Make China and Russia Stronger Bill"? The "Pay My Friends Bill"? The "Government Picks Winners Bill"?

It occurred to me that the inflation bill's logic is the same as my logic when I go "I should eat a cinnamon roll so that I have the energy to exercise later."
