NYC is crazy. Everyone I know that moved there is on benefits. My gay friend moved there after getting HIV. In NYC they will pay 100% of your rent, up to $3800 if you have HIV, including utilities. The apartment has a fireplace, balcony and washer dryer. Which is rare there. The program is called HASA. There is a federal one called HOPWA but they only pay 30% Why are Anerican taxpayers paying for the housing of ppl with HIV? Its a manageable disease now like diabetes. I've never heard anyone talk about this
Rent controlled for $2,500 a month? Market value of $8,000 a month? HOLY CRAP!! That's insane. My mortgage is $1,860 a month and I'm betting my house is twice the size of his apartment.
