I lost my husband on Thanksgiving to a sudden heart attack. The following yr I was in the gro store all alone on an isle with a couple in which the husband couldn't do anything right. I watched the wife jerk a can of bean from him like he was stupid. I couldn't help but cry. Always treat your partner with love and dignity. Tomorrow is not promised. It's been 16 years. I will always mourn the loss.
I'm about to get married on August 9th. I was a bit nervous but for some reason not anymore. Thank you Dr. Kreeft.
I am 75, the wife is 70. We met 40 years ago. The attraction we have for each other, call it "love" if you prefer, has gone through various stages and forms. When a guy is 30, he cannot image that he could be charmed and captivated by a slightly overweight, old woman. But that indeed happens. I'm not sure everyone has that capacity. If the 70-year-old is an angry, meanspirited type, maybe those tender feelings aren't available.
I'm 66, married for 43 years. I so feel what he said. Although my wife is a pretty good looking 65 year old, we recently lost the last of our 4 parents. We lived through 4 people with dementia at the end. It was painful but allowed us to see our own end. I realized just how much I love my wife so it doesn't matter. I will be with her and she with me till the end.
Beautiful message. Congrats Ben
I felt the same at the nursing home when I saw my wife of 34 years draw her last breath. She had so much peace she looked like an angel. I never loved her more.
My wife is pregnant at 40, after a lifetime of infertility. She is already a step mom to 2, a foster mom (many times over), and adoptive mother of 4. She hates the way she looks at 32 weeks of pregnancy and I'm just in awe of God's miraculous plan and of this woman as we are watching the life inside her develop.
Congratulations Ben and Wife for the new addition to your family ❤🎉
It’s no wonder so many people virulently attack Ben. Why there is such a campaign of vicious hate and mockery toward him. He truly represents, proclaims and champions the good in this world. He’s constantly reminding us of what is both holy and true in this life. That is the only thing that can defeat evil and his spiritual opponents know it. There is such a contrast between Ben and the not so merry band of trolls and ghouls that profit off of the pain, anger and divisiveness of the world. It’s the easiest thing to do, sell despair. That is why it’s so important folks like Ben, Jordan Peterson, Andrew Klavan and even Matt Walsh are protected, allowed to flourish and continue their work. The most important of jobs. It’s so much more than politics. I’ve been listening to Ben since around 2015, when I first discovered him. I’m at least 10 years his senior. Although, like many of us, I have learned so much from him and folks like him. Admittedly, I wasn’t going down a righteous path when I found his podcast. It wasn’t only Ben that helped me see the light, but it is a large reason as to where I am today and I’m grateful for that.
"As beautiful as a crucifix." This man, in this one sentence, just resume what life is about; the beauty and meaning that can be found in pain and tragedy and what it is to carry one's cross.
