I got my RealID back in August because I had a flight coming up in October. It cost me $70 and I spent 4 hours waiting in line on a Thursday morning. My sister did not have a single weekday with 4 free hours before 4:15PM when the DMV closes in that entire 3 month period so she couldn't get hers and had to do the extra TSA screening. The SAVE Act is just voter disenfranchisement and a poll tax. Oh and reminder that the RealID act was passed in 2005 as a "war on terror" measure. Because it was so pointless, for 21 years no president actually signed the executive order making them mandatory- not even Trump in his first term. Also, neither of us have a passport. We've never travelled out of the country because its so expensive to do so. And a first-time passport is something like $130 in our state and also takes months to process. We work paycheck to paycheck, we don't have an extra $130 lying around.
