Carter was the politician who was not a politician!! After leaving the White House, he effectively proved that statesmen like him don’t need a title for their deeds to be consequential, inspiring and time transcending!!
Emily looks like she’s just chilling on top of Krystal’s fireplace
You only alluded to the nearly eradicated guinea worm disease, but should have elaborated on this accomplishment. There were over a million cases in 15+ African countries in the 80s. Because of Carter's program, fewer than 10 cases have been documented in 2024.
Carter’s comments in that clip from Democracy Now are brilliant. I had my issues with Carter during his presidency, but he was a good man. Can’t say that about too many presidents, sadly.
I'd call Carter the last Christian president.
Carter was not a great president but he was an exceptional person who lived a fulfilling life. He also didn’t use the office to enrich himself after leaving office. RIP president Carter
I hope to see at Carter funeral someone who has the balls to point out to everyone the differences in the way he lived his life after he was president compared the the former presidents sitting in the front row.
Happy New Year everyone
Interesting segment guys, has inspired me to investigate more about the Carter years
