Short Summary
- Major employers (Amazon, UPS) are executing significant layoffs, citing AI adoption and efficiency gains, even during peak business cycles.
- Financial guidance confirms a strong institutional bias against new hiring as corporations calculate growth without expanding personnel.
- Lack of upward mobility for educated young adults, driven by AI erosion of entry-level roles, creates conditions ripe for radicalization and societal strain, following historical patterns.

Remember when the big argument in favour of billionaires was "they create jobs"?
My brother was cut in the corporate layoff today at Amazon. He was lead in the video game creation division.
They can print money for everything except food and shelter
Man, it's a good thing every city was giving them huge tax breaks to build there.
Henry Ford understood 1 thing these robber barons dont. If your own employees cant afford your product you won't sell anything
Every single service ive used that’s “Ai” has been objectively terrible
Stop ordering from Amazon
I work for a telecommunications company and they cut 1200 jobs last week with no warning.
i think we need to have a conversation about companies blaming AI for the job losses when just as much or more of it is due to off-shoring employees from other countries for analyst jobs
Lost my job 2 months ago and amazon lost a client too.
