Political Targeting: Potential Comey Indictment vs. Trump Allies' Immunity Claims

Evaluate the critical development regarding potential indictments against James Comey and Letitia James, and analyze the perceived double standard used to justify political prosecution while demanding immunity for political allies.

Short Summary

  • Career prosecutors reportedly opposed charging Comey due to insufficient evidence, yet the newly installed US Attorney (handpicked by Trump) is moving forward with the case.
  • The case against Comey centers on testimony from September 2020, which triggers the approaching five-year statute of limitations deadline.
  • This aggressive pursuit contrasts sharply with the treatment of Trump allies like Peter Navarro, who served prison time for defying Congress.
  • The discussion identifies that the stated political goal is shifting from ideological consistency to pure, transactional revenge against opponents.

This analysis breaks down the specific, arguably weak, legal merits cited for targeting Comey and Letitia James, juxtaposed against the accountability faced by those aligned with the former administration. The intent appears to be proactively weaponizing the federal government against perceived enemies before a potential future administration takes power.

I wonder how Comey feels about writing that letter about Hillary the week before 2016 election now.

The problem is he clearly lied and these people absolutely should be indicted.

I mean I believe Comey is corrupt and they can send him to some sort of sci-fi moon prison for all I care, but you'd have to be straight up remedial to think that this administration gives half a fuck about corruption. The Trump admin is basically one giant sinkhole for bribes from Qataris, Israelis, billionaire tech freaks etc and all they do is give contracts to their buddies.

Narrator: Grand jury did indeed indict him on felony counts.

Comey, Brennan and Clapper have been caught lying several times and fed us the Russiagate ruse. About time they had to answer for that.

I hate “there’s not enough there there”. It’s a silly expression.
