All I’m gonna say is that the subways in Europe (especially the Istanbul, Paris, Madrid and Berlin subways) serve many more people, are much clean, are much more modern, and are much cheaper than the NYC subway system. It’s not a money issue, it’s an efficiency/corruption issue.

The city of Philadelphia passed a tax on soda a few years ago, saying that it was going to be used to improve the public schools, then it was revealed several years later that the city just put all of the money into the general fund, and none of it made it into the schools. I expect the same thing to happen here.

Hochul bragged about giving them this tax and not giving them a 15 dollar amount, but reducing it to 9 dollars. Over something that didn’t exist before. Like she did everyone a favor.

Ryan's argument here is why forcing in-office work is so disgusting. If you now have to spend 1-2 hours commuting that you hadn't needed to before, that is a 1 or 2 hour *PAY CUT* you are suffering through.

What caught my ear was that that guy could park his car right in front of his building. That's worth $50 alone.

The other part of the scam is.... Public transportation costs are going up despite the congestion tax pushing more people to public transportation.....which translates to making more money.

There's a difference between taking a $3 subway ride and evading a $30 fee to drive your own car

Also, with the cars, you’ve already paid or are paying for it in terms of the note, all the taxes with paying for it, the licenses plate, registration, and then local taxes for the roads. The outrageous $9 a day is a massive burden an insult. If you have to go to work over that line it’s an additional $2350 a year. - A person who lived off mass transit.

Gotta clear out the streets for the CEO protective motorcades.
