As someone working in software development and being pushed to use "ai" to "boost productivity", I haven't encountered a single model that would come even close to being able to achieve to do the job by itself. In 2018 they said we were 2 years away from self driving cars.

I love how the discussions about 'AI' in the media are being undertaken by finance guys like Altman, venture capital bros like JD Vance, or economists like this guy. Anyone BUT individuals who actually work directly or contribute to the science. Why? Because those individuals with any deep understanding about the subject know that it's pure hype. The capital class is having a full on circle jerk in their fantasy that they'll finally get to replace labour with true subservience and the grifters are having a ball with it.
