If you’d like to support my work, please pre-order my new book, THE DAY AFTER, which explores how Republicans have abused power, how Democrats have failed to wield it, and what we must do if we get it back. Pre-order here: https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/thedayafter

More people in DC than the entire state of WY and nobody is represented.

Statehood would mean the president no longer has control over the guard there.

Hearing her talk about Trump exaggerating the crime rate made me realize something. The crime rate in the Oval Office is probably higher than the crime rate in the rest of DC.

(5:55) I completely agree that DC needs representation. When the Constitution was ratified (1788), the most populous state, Virginia, had a population of just under 750,000 and was represented by two senators and ten representatives (19 after the 1790 census). The least populous state, Delaware, at just under 60,000, had one Representative and two Senators. It seems fundamentally unjust that DC’s current population of just under 700,000 would have no say in their own government; they are not objecting to taxation, but to lack of representation. Liberty and Justice for all. 🗽⚖️🇺🇸

Washington DC belongs to all of us. You don't have to live or work there to "feel" it. We ALL feel the multiple gut punches every freaking day!

This is all the Supreme Court's fault. They've allowed for the Chief Felon to incite an insurrection on the Presidency. Court Reform!! 13 Justices for the 13 Court Circuits.
