I have travelled extensively overseas. Here is my hack. Do not do connecting flights. Only one flight per day. Then, stay at a hotel near the airport and take a flight the next day. That way, you can sleep and recover between flights. If you do connecting flights, you will be sleep-deprived, you will crave junk food, your muscles will waste, and you will feel terrible. With just one flight per day, you can relax and recover and not get into the downward spiral.
My jet lag protocol is stay awake for 24+hrs until the nighttime of wherever I’m Going. Never suffered past the first day

I was a flight attendant for 7 years for a major airline. I've never been so sick, tired and low energy in my life. Often after a flight, I would sleep 15-18h. My body was wrecked. And just when I would recover from a flight, I'd have to do it again. When I would go home for leave, all I would want to do is sleep.

Brian, you just opened my eyes to something: We have accounting for businesses but not for ourselves. I know some people don't want to measure aspects of their biology for the reason that it may make them accountable to change their lifestyle. However, I'm enjoying measuring myself and enjoying the improvements I can make over time. I gamify it!
It was very empty without Kate today. I wish her the quickest recovery!
Great podcast. We as humans weren't made to travel long distances within hours lol it would take our ancestors months to go from Europe to America changing their time zone GRADUALLY slowly, it probably didn't even affect them at all.
The strain that flight may place on the body is but a fleeting toll, far outweighed by the enduring vitality, wonder, and self-expansion that only travel can bestow.
