Ned Brower from 'The Pitt' and Karen Tumlin of the Justice Action Center join The Bulwark's hosts Sonny Bunch and Adrian Carrasquillo to discuss the impact of the "ICE episode"—and the Trump policies that it shone a light on. This was such an important episode. I'm glad the writers made the decision to address this.

The Pitt also brings to light the health care crisis concerning insurance and cost of care.

I'm an ER and primary care doc. The Pitt is one of only 2 medical shows I can watch without shouting at the TV how wrong it is. And if ICE shows up... there's a lot of health care workers who know exactly what to do. There are some assholes in every profession, but most of us understand the assignment even if we can't say so in a public forum.

Glad they highlighted issues of immigrants seeking medical care and the barriers they face. Great show. Fuck ICE.

As a nurse I just have to say that the way the show handled this storyline was extremely realistic.

The PITT also consistently does a wonderful job of representing unhoused persons with compassion and sensitivity. It resets the bar for what minimal level of humane concern we all should be showing our fellow citizens.

Malcom Nance has said that the entire DHS needs to be DISMANTLED because “Hydra has invaded Shield”!!

I live in Minneapolis and our main hospital in downtown might have to close because of Trump’s actions. First, cuts to Medicaid is impacting the hospital which is the only one that cares for uninsured people. Then the ICE surge we experienced also hit the hospital. Patients delaying care. Health care and support staff afraid to come to work. ICE detained a resident who was here on an HB 1 visa training to be a doctor. That resident was deported and they were here legally. The cruelty of this administration should make us all angry. Thank you to the show for highlighting the impact of ICE on our medical community. Don’t get me started on how RFK Jr is negatively impacting the medical community.
