Counterpoint: Democrats aren’t making an “enormous fuss” they’re making a distinction using more precise language, and Republicans are making a stink in order weaponize their base’s prejudices because their candidate is an actual criminal.

Let's be clear. Democrats aren't obsessed with trans people. Republicans are obsessed with trans people.

There's nothing "cringe" about taking a stand for human rights. It's the Republicans who are making an issue of it.

It's a fallacy that democrats don't enforce immigration laws. First, there were tens of thousands of deportations under the Obama administration. Second, and more importantly, it's actually the Republicans who aren't serious about immigration. In 2024, there was a sweeping, bipartisan immigration bill that came before the Senate. It had widespread bipartisan support. Yet, Trump told the Republicans to tank the bill so that he could run on the immigration issue. The Republicans did as they were asked. Thus, they cared more about bolstering Trump's campaign than they did about immigration.

Short story: When the people choose evil, evil the people are, and evil the people get.
