Call her Mommy
My favorite bit of advice I was given when I was pregnant, and worrying about how it would affect my identity, is this: “ there’s a moment during labor where you feel you can’t do it anymore/you can’t take it anymore. That’s when you know the baby’s about come because the woman you are can’t do it but the mother you’re about to become can. A mother is also born on that day ❤.”
Thank you for acknowledging and holding space for those who are dealing with infertility and other issues surrounding pregnancy. Congratulations and wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy! ❤

Awe I’m so excited for you I just had my son after 13 years of trying
what’s so crazy is I would listen to the old episodes On my way to college back in 2020 and now here I am still listening while painting my baby’s crib because I’m due in September!
Thank you for also acknowledging those who choose not to have children. I rarely hear that! Congratulations on the baby Alex!! ❤
I had a baby 7 months ago. When I was pregnant I felt like all I heard about was how hard it would be but I wasn’t prepared for how much LOVE and happiness I could feel! I’m obsessed with my baby and she is so much fun. Words can’t describe the beauty of motherhood. I waited until my 30s to have her and I’m so glad I did.
I have a complex illness I was born with (Cystic Fibrosis) which has a 56% infertility rate for women and a 98% infertility rate for men. I was one of those 56%. I have wanted children my whole life. And I wasn’t able to adopt because CF is considered (then, still today) a terminal illness. They don’t give babies to people that are “dying”. So, here I am at 52, childless. And I still celebrate EVERY WOMAN who gets to experience this magical time. CONGRATS ALEX!!!! Here is to those women like me who never got to experience this. You can still find fulfillment in this space by outwardly pouring that love onto other women around you and support them through this miracle. ❤
my mums first born was a stillbirth. they knew something was wrong during the third trimester but she still had to carry him till birth. cold cots weren’t really a thing almost 30 years ago so they only got that one moment together. the sheer amount of mental and physical turmoil she must have endured during that time and to HAVE THE STRENGTH TO TRY AGAIN a few years later for me to come along is something i literally cannot fathom. nature is incredible, women are incredible, mothers are so incredibly incredibly strong because unless i go through this pregnancy thing myself it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to put myself in her shoes.
