To this day I maintain that opening scene of Nightcrawler single handedly attacking the White House is the best opening scene in any superhero movie
I think a lot of people look at the sacrifice as a plot hole and ask "Why didn't she do that from inside the jet?" but the answer is alluded to throughout the movie. Scott references it at the museum when he talks about her nightmares, Logan notices several times that she's concerned, even in the dam when she says "Something's wrong..." she's not just talking about the dam, she's talking about herself. Troubleshooting the engine issues, lifting the jet, holding back hundreds of thousands gallons of water, stopping nightcrawler from teleporting and communicating with the professor all at the same time - Jean knew she could save her friends but she did it from outside of the jet because she was scared of the fact that she knew she could do all of those things, of how exponentially fast her power was growing and of what could happen if she lost control. “I know what I’m doing, this is the only way” The look on her face as she lets the water go is almost one of relief and acceptance, like she doesn't have to be scared of herself anymore.
Rogue and Nightcrawler being siblings and Mystique being their mom is something I miss from the comics.
i believe Kelly Hu's mutant name is Lady Deathstrike
"Like a Siryn song" That's likely exactly who that little girl is, Banshee's daughter Siryn. Had a fling with Deadpool in the comics!
Yall probably forgot that professor doesn’t have telekinesis so no he couldn’t have helped her. And the movie already showed how being too close to electronics when her powers are activated make the electronics glitch so she had to distance herself from the jet so it could fly away
Mystique doesn’t need to go through anything to take someone’s form or outfit. She just does it. So yeah, it was just to inject him with liquid iron into his blood.
The Phoenix Force was manifesting through her, had she stayed on the plane she would've killed everyone.
Fun fact: the female police officer at Bobby's house is also the F-16 fighter pilot in the following scene and the first female fighter pilot ever to be seen on screen.
Best prison escape in cinema. Magento floating on an iron disc is iconic.
