I really appreciate how much effort they put into making those flashback look like the old show. I’ve really missed those deep shadows and greenish yellows.
Love the old Netflix lighting in those flashback sequences
Achara: *Emotional wreck.* Jaby: "I know now why you cry, but it's something I could never do."
Vincent D’Onofrio using his natural real life voice when Vanessa wakes up was such an ingenious choice. Vincent said in interviews that that voice comes primarily from Wilson’s past trauma. But in this moment, he’s as happy as he was when he was a kid because the love of his life survived death. Then as she’s dying we hear that voice come back, and from the look on his face to the way his hands were moving in an almost infantile way, we see him completely regress and fall back into the scared child she feels he is deep down inside. *FOR GODS SAKE GIVE VINCENT D’ONOFRIO A GODDAMN EMMY!*
It's hurtful & joyful to see Foggy again at the same time.
Achara cried, because she saw that Foggy is the anchor to Matt's soul. And she just saw the very same soul leave Kingpin. When a TV series can walk you through those emotions for a villain, you know it's amazing storytelling.
the man in the trunk was the man from the previous episode who was the other shipmate that was gonna be used as a witness against Fisk.
I really appreciate Achara being so in touch with the same emotions I felt watching this episode. It was written masterfully
This episode was an absolute gut punch. Trauma galore.
Jaby damn you. You just don't sit there and let Achara cry. You hug that woman MAAANN!!!!! 😂
