The guy who played Twister was actually a very good friend of donnie yen. And he actually passed away about eight years ago
"The big guy in Ip Man 2 is actually a legend. In his younger days, he was a colleague and close friend of Bruce Lee. His name is Sammo Hung. If you remember the opening scene of Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon, where he fights an opponent shirtless—that’s actually Sammo Hung."
This is my favorite from the Ip Man movies because it has the great Sammo Hung!!!!!
Ip Man's son Ip Chun has portrayed him in an old film. He consulted on the first Ip Man film and cameoed in several Ip Man films. He's 101 years young and still active.
In the present time Ip Chun, Ip Man's son is the grandmaster of Wing Chun in HongKong he's over 100 years old
Sammo Hung is such a legend in martial arts world and done tons of work with Jackie Chan. He’s so brilliant in this
While filming a scene, Sammo Hung (Master Hung Chun-Nam) was struck in the face by co-star Darren Shahlavi (Twister). He insisted on completing the shoot before going to the hospital. Not wanting his injuries to hinder the production progress, Hung spent five hours trying to complete the scene before going to the hospital for four stitches.
"OK, Apollo!" Love how Vivian immediately understood that Rocky IV reference. 😂
IP Man 2 is one of those sequels that lives up to the first movie. I can't believe it's 15 years old already. Doesn't seem that long ago.
43:47 - One of the most enjoyable parts of the IP Man movies for me is that they position IP in that stable consistent moderated place of being centered. Both in terms of how he behaves and only engaging from passive to aggressive if he’s engaged. He ends up acting as a bit of a column for the pendulum swing of character growth from who we think the villains are, to make us feel sorry for someone whose unchecked pride made us want him to get knocked off the table, to someone that has a family, is representing the entire fabric of his culture both his roots and martial art. Makes me wonder what this master’s upbringing was like to never compromise, even in the face of his body giving out. Love these movies.
