I don't think its really talked about or even noticed based on other reactions that I've seen of this film but Finney is gifted just like how his sister Gwen is but in a different way Gwen has psychic visions through her dreams but Finney can communicate with the dead in the form of a medium and the black phone served as his conduit for us as the audience to see it. So it looks like their mother passed on her abilities to both her children and not just Gwen
The confidence was not becuase he killed someone, it was because he finally was able to defend himself.
the implications of SA in this movie were not just something that could've happened, but what actually happened to all of the kids. Even Finney. It was confirmed by the showrunner. They just decided not to show any sa scenes because it wasn't needed
I’ve watched a bunch of reactions to this film (yes I love it that much) and not one reactor has pointed out or noticed that Griffin (the boy that gives Finny the lock combination) physically appeared and pointed at the phone instead of calling because The Grabber, who was sleep, can also hear the phone. If he had called then The Grabber would have woken up and Finny wouldn’t have been able to escape. Such a small detail but I loved it.
Finney's own gift helped him to escape. The boys were only able to reach him because of his gift. It's different from his sister's but very much there. If you remember, when dad was done beating sis and yelling at her that she doesn't see and hear things, he looked at Finn and said "And that goes for you, too." They both got something from their mom.
What I love about Mike is that sometimes when he gets scared he goes into a fighting stance 😂
The scene with Finney and Robin practicing the phone swing in synch always gives me goosebumps!
Just a fun fact: “The Grabber’s “ brother is the actor who played Eddie in the 2019 Andy and Barbara Muschietti adaptation of “IT”. 😊
What I love about this film is the message that the Grabber is not important, the victims are. We learn the victims' names and backstories but we don't even know the Grabber's real name because it's not important, the victims are important. I think that's what we as society seem to forget because we are so fascinated by the serial killers and want to understand the reasoning why they do these evil awful things but we just skim over the victims if they were just props. But this film doesn't do that and I love it.
"Jesus, wtf?!" is hilarious. The sister is the best.
