Just Watched JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX! | Movie Review

Sorry but any movie that's gonna make you quit it after 10 minutes at home is NOT worth going to the theater for. We've got popcorn at home.

Telling people to watch it in theaters because they're kind of "stcuk there" and more apt to finish it, isn't a very compelling reason. How about you tell people to save their time and money. Obviously a skip

Lol. I get that. I paused morbius 3 years ago. Its still paused. I watched madame web in theaters and all i could think about was walking out.

Todd Phillips didn't just show us how much he hates comic book fans , he showed us how much he hates Audience in general.

I think that there is some confusion around why I said it’s worth seeing the movie in the theater. Whether a movie is good or bad, if it’s on the slower side, it can be more challenging to finish watching it in the comfort of your home where there is the opportunity to pause it or get distracted by something else. I think there are some elements in this film (and many reviewers who dunked on the movie praised those elements) that make it a more interesting watch for the big screen rather than at home, so you can better focus on enjoying those aspects. But I am coming at this from a cinephiles perspective. Not with any hope this is as good as the first film or rage that it isn’t. And I felt I made that pretty clear in this video. However, another comment inspired me to want to add to this. Some people are making the point about whether or not it’s worth $20 for the price of admission. For me, because of who I am and what I am passionate about, yes. Despite the fact I didn’t like it, I could see it was trying to do/say something. Did it win me over? No. I think I enjoyed unpacking it a bit and like I said, I enjoyed some of the elements of the film. I am coming from a “privileged” place because the only thing I really lost here was time. I pay monthly for my movie theater pass. And I forget that not everyone does that. From the perspective of $20 for the film - if you love cinema, like you collect blu-rays, then I’d say still see it for the conversation about it. But if you’re a casual film goer or just want something that measures up to the first movie, then no, it’s not worth the $20.

Jaby - a little sidebar from the far side of 40 - and this is with all due, non-condescending respect. Those annoying movie theater goers were there 10-15 years ago, especially for premieres and they haven’t changed. Maybe you’ve just gotten older, brother. My wife and I are still movie goers - but now we wait for week 2-3 and we go in the afternoon. Still a blast, but we’re done with the young folks: the screaming, hollering, snackin’, slurpin’, talking, texting, teasing, kissing, crowd. And we’re good. But I could be wrong, of course 😊

A friend of mine saw it Thursday, she is a fan of the Joker, and really liked the first one. So she was really excited to go to the second Joker movie, then I talked to her last night, and she said it was terrible. She did not like it at all, and said she was shocked at all the musicals in it. I asked her how many stars she would give it, and she said one. So I looked at reviews online, and one place had 4,400 reviews, and the average rating was a 1.7. I also looked at rotton tomatoes and they rate it at 33%, which is not good.

"That" other film is most likely Another Earth. Also I don't think that watching a movie out of charity and pity is a compelling argument.
