It's outrageous that James Horner didn't win the Oscar for Best Original Score for this film. Proof of that is that this music will live forever in the memory of viewers. However, nobody remembers who won the award that year.
The look of betrayal in Wallace’s eyes when he realizes Robert the Bruce has turned against him is some of the finest acting I’ve ever seen. Mel Gibson conveys heartbreak, disbelief, and devastation without saying a single word.
"Every man dies but not every man really lives..." - William Wallace
I snuck into this movie with my older brother when I was 7. We were supposed to be seeing the power rangers. That little act of rebellion changed my life. Down to my degree in history and wifes resemblance to sophie marceau 😂. Its inaccurate but still so powerful. I love it.
When the dad tells his son as hes dying he’s “proud of the man he’s become” it wrecks me every single time..
Only saw this once. I can’t take another day of emotional damage. 🥺
Holy Guacamole, I am early for once. Think about Mel Gibson whatever you like, but the man never fails to connect emotionaly through his performances. When he comes home, and smells the air, the only place that has this specific combination of soil, grass and trees. Without saying a word, I know exactly how he is feeling. What a Movie.
One of my absolute favorite songs from this film is "For the love of a princess." I still listen to it time and again❤️
Patrick McGoohan was fantastic as the despicable King. Good to have his distinguished presence as part of this movie. He took it up several levels.
They fought like warrior poets, they fought like Scotsman and won their freedom. Will always be my slogan
