This is simply the most important podcast to ever been cast. Have him on again. Elan is onto something, and you are onto what he's onto. This is the most important discussion to be having now, Please keep having it.
watched both parts awesome talk
Dr. Elan is delighted to find thinkers of his caliber. That's an amazing compliment without using direct compliment language. I also appreciate his humility.
The concept of words as a living entity is found in the occult. “Egregore”
The idea that the whole web of words shifts when one word is redefined is scary especially when it gets used to silo specialised knowledge. For example, the average person's idea of what a particle is comes from common experience: a particle would be something like a speck of dust but smaller. Physicists have a different definition because they had to abandon the common sense one due to ideas they came up with in quantum mechanics. From that point, there has been no way for physicists to explain quantum mechanics in terms relatable to human experience and the model making part of the QM enterprise has become entirely theoretical and mathematical because it can't be anything else. No wonder physicists increasingly agree that reality is dubious.

Nothing exists outside of language and language is an abstraction
What a great conversation. I've seen Dr Barenholz expound on his ideas a couple of times but you guys always add a different dimension to the conversation which brings out more in the guest.

Ever noticed when someone says “you know” A LOT - they have a small vocabulary, because they looking for words they don’t have.
