Shapiro's willingness to criticize Trump while Trump was in power was one of the things that had me start watching his content or checking in on his takes when major events happened. My respect grew more when Jan 6 happened, in the lead up Ben kept saying "they don't have evidence of fraud" and when the actual insurrection happened he was not having any of it. Sadly after Desantis lost and we knew who the nominee would be he jumped back in line super fast. We'll see if he's willing to criticize dumb Trump policies again...

Tariffs make imported goods more expensive to protect local industry. You can implement tariffs, but it would be moot if there is no existing local industry.
