Debunking Menopause Myths: Addressing Symptoms Beyond Low Estrogen

Stop treating menopause symptoms with risky hormone therapy; discover the root cause—insulin resistance—and actionable natural strategies for relief.

Short Summary

  • Prioritize fixing insulin resistance to manage weight, hot flashes, and inflammation as the primary solution.
  • Use high-dose Vitamin D3 (20,000 IU) daily, supported by magnesium and K2, to optimize overall function, including estrogen activation.
  • Explore targeted natural symptom relievers like soy isoflavones or black cohosh if immediate relief is required while addressing root causes.

This presentation challenges the standard medical narrative that menopause symptoms result solely from low estrogen needing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). The speaker argues that HRT carries significant risks, pointing instead to metabolic issues governed by the hypothalamus, primarily insulin resistance and Vitamin D deficiency, as the true culprits behind weight gain, hot flashes, and mood changes.

Estrogen hormone therapy side effects include: •Breast cancer •Endometrial cancer •Clots •Increased risk of stroke •Gallstones •Fluid retention •Increased triglycerides •Increased risk for cardiovascular problems Not only does hormone therapy cause dangerous side effects, but menopausal women are also put on medications to treat the following menopause symptoms: •Hot flashes •Weight gain/visceral fat •Mood swings •Joint pain •Low libido •Bone loss •Muscle loss •High blood pressure These medications also come with dangerous side effects! During menopause, estrogen drops significantly, and women stop releasing eggs. This occurs around age 52 for most women. This affects the hypothalamus, which controls the body’s thermostat, body weight, appetite, and energy levels. Other hormones, such as progesterone and testosterone, also decrease. If you have low vitamin D or insulin resistance, you are more likely to experience hot flashes during menopause. Estrogen plays a vital role in protecting beta cells and maintaining insulin sensitivity. It controls inflammation and regulates the amount of sugar produced by the liver. Surprisingly, estrogen plays a vital role in the activation of vitamin D and the function of the vitamin D receptor. The most important way to address menopause symptoms is to fix insulin resistance. Menopausal signs and symptoms can also be addressed with the following: •Vitamin D3 (20,000 IU daily) taken with magnesium and vitamin K2 •Natural remedies: Soy isoflavones, resveratrol, black cohosh, red clover •Align your schedule with light and dark, increase morning sun exposure •Try progesterone creams •Try melatonin for sleep If you’ve tried everything, testosterone pellets may be a good option to address your menopause symptoms. The physical therapy workers don't like YouTube videos. They told me do not look at anything on YouTube about physical therapy and I found that the physical therapist on YouTube are better and different from the local ones. Just like learning about health and weight loss from YouTube I am proud of myself, I love keto fasting, learning something new about health and vitamins and nutrients, etc. Without having YouTube and learning from the best of the best. I wouldn't be alive. Thank God for everything. 410lbs down to 208 today. 💯 🔥 Keto fasting 💪 👑

I’ve been eating primarily whole foods low-carb with intermittent fasting (one to two meals per day) for almost six years … now in my mid-50’s, I don’t have any menopause symptoms at all. Looking back, I realize I was beginning to get the nightly insomnia, stubborn belly fat, brain fog, and mood swings of peri-menopause in my late 40’s. Since overhauling my diet, I have NONE of that. Even the belly fat is gone! Also, no hot flashes, no hair loss, no unexplained aches and pains, no energy crashes, and I don’t take meds of any kind. Reducing grains, sugar/sweeteners, starches and seed oils (ie. all packaged processed foods) has been absolutely life-changing. ❤

Their goal is always to make pharmaceutical customers out of us. It isn't about healing anyone, it's about selling us pharmaceuticals

Been healthy all my life, never been to a hospital except giving birth. But when menopause hits me, I felt like dying. Been to ER, got frozen shoulder on both of my shoulders, joint/hip pain, anxiety, tingling on my feet, ringing on my ear, insomia, hot flashes, etc. I became agoraphobic also. I stopped working Jan of this year to take care of myself. And most doctors are not knowledgeable abt menopause, giving u all these pills for every symptoms not going to the root cause of the problem which is defficiency in hormones. I had a horrible 2 yrs of my life rn and I don't even know if this will get better once I reach menopause. To all women out there, u have to educate urself abt menopause, know that u are not alone. Hope that the govt would give funding on research more abt women's health esp menopause🙏

I started going thru menopause at ahe 39 and I was miserable. I went to the doctor and he put me on a plant based hormone compound for 5 years. I felt great until I went off it. At 73 I'm having all the symptoms Dr. Berg explained. Thanks Dr. Berg.
