If you can’t do them all, that’s okay—choose the ones that are right for you! Pick the best exercises for your home arm workout. As we age, the muscles in our arms start to atrophy along with our fascia. Fascia holds the shape of the arm and is vital for the whole body. Fascia maintains the body’s shape, keeps your muscles in place, and shares some of the force on your body when you exercise. When you stimulate the fascia, you cause collagen synthesis, which is essential as you age. The arm exercises I’m going to show you focus on strengthening the primary and secondary muscles, associated supporting muscles, and the fascia. This arm workout is safe on the joints, produces significant strength, and can reshape the arms for slim, toned arms. Most of the exercises I’m going to show you today are isometric exercises. This type of exercise increases tension in the muscle without lengthening or shortening it. Contracting your muscle is referred to as a concentric movement, while the extension is an eccentric movement. You’ll need a resistance band or isometric band for these arm exercises. Some will be done using a TRX, which works great for an arm workout. Gymnastic rings can also work but are not necessary. If you don’t have any equipment, don’t worry! You can also get slim, toned arms by using your body weight. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 59, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. I retired from the military in 2019. I was 253lbs, 5’7, 48, post menopausal, rheumatoid arthritis, and PTSD. I was a runner until I got sick. When I retired I got peloton and started. About a year in I needed more so I bought some bands. The bands aggregated my wrists and was very painful so I switched to 3lb dumbbells and mimicked the same movements. Eventually the weights went to 5lbs, I watched a ton of weight lifting yet vids, and I started using my bow flex M5 incorporated a circuit training program. Did that for about a year. Then I moved to the gym. Next month I will have been going to the gym for 2 years. I ended losing a lot of body fat and be it took so long I don’t have a lot of extra skin which is nice. I was 135lbs last year. I felt weak though so I continued to increase weight and started building muscle. I put on some weight but happy to say it’s all muscle really. My pants still fit nicely however I can feel the glutes have grown as well as my shoulders, back, arms, I have a waist! lol. Weight training is it for me. No more fluctuating bodyweight, I’m 147lbs, my RA has calmed down a lot, and my PTSD is pretty manageable! Loving life….finally! ✌🏽❤️🇨🇦

I started exercising going in 2yrs now. I decided I wanted to age gracefully without being on a bunch of medications. Since then, I have been learning the best health practices to make me healthier. So far I went from 316 down to 280...36lbs, my goal is 50lbs. But when you factor in a tragic year, house fire, mom's surgery, and a car accident. I'm happy to still be in the game. Here's to reaching my goal, whenever I do. Salute to everyone!!

Don’t forget to breathe while under tension. Many hold their breath, but breathing steadily strengthens your core.
