Teenage Murder Investigation Exposing Deception and Digital Evidence

Uncover the chilling details of a brutal murder committed by a teenager and how the subsequent police investigation exposed layered deception, including an elaborate claim of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Short Summary

  • Police discovered a deceased ex-girlfriend in the garage, apparently killed via multiple stabbings [00:04:15].
  • Suspect Kiara attempted to minimize responsibility by claiming self-diagnosed Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) [00:23:08].
  • Investigators rapidly secured key evidence by convincing Isaac to sign consent for immediate phone data extraction [00:36:04].
  • Text messages exposed both suspects actively planning violence and discussing post-murder cleanup [00:43:03].

This document details the immediate police response following the discovery of Grace Jennings' body in a garage. Due to copyright restrictions parts of the conclusion had to be removed from the YouTube version of this video. For clarity, here’s a quick summary of how the case ultimately ended: Both Kiara and Isaac were charged with first-degree murder. At first, it seemed as though Kiara’s plan had worked, as a judge found her incompetent to stand trial, and sent her to the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. However, a month later, she was deemed competent by professionals, and returned back to the Santa Fe County Jail. In February 2025, Kiara pleaded to second-degree murder and agreed to testify against Isaac, prosecutors say the crime’s brutality could still bring up to 30 years. Isaac Apodaca initially took a plea, then in November 2024 fired his lawyers, voided the deal, and pled not guilty. Now, with a new legal team that needs to get up to speed, the start date for Isaac's trial has been pushed back once more. If found guilty, he’ll likely be facing similar penalties as Kierra. If found guilty, they’ll likely be behind bars until 2055.

Imagine planning a murder over phone messages, having them RIGHT THERE, and not even attempting to delete the messages.

I always feel so awful for the parents involved. One lost their daughter, one found out hers was a killer. Horrific
