You changed my life. I was on multiple diabetes meds and threatened to start insulin. I started fasting and lost over 100 lbs over the years. No longer type 2. No one but you suggested alternatives

Carbs turn into sugar in your tummy. Sugar goes into your blood. Your body is supposed to open a little door to let sugar go inside the cells so the cells can use it for energy. But with diabetes, those little doors don’t open properly. So when you eat a lot of carbs, too much sugar comes rushing in, and there aren’t enough open doors. So the sugar gets stuck in your blood instead of going into your cells. That makes your blood sugar go way too high. Think of your cells like tiny houses. They need sugar inside to make energy, just like houses need electricity. But every house has a locked door. Insulin is the key. Insulin’s whole job is: Sugar is knocking… open up the door and let it in. When insulin works well, the sugar goes inside the house and everything is happy. Now imagine the houses get tired of opening the door because sugar keeps knocking all the time. So the houses start saying: “I don’t want to open the door anymore.” This is insulin resistance. The door becomes stubborn. The key (insulin) tries to open it, but the house barely listens. So sugar stays outside, floating around in your blood, making the numbers go high. Your body then makes more and more keys just to try to open the door. But the houses still say: “No. We’re tired.” That is insulin resistance.
I started my intermittent fasting some years ago and it worked magically for me. I lost about 7kg within the period of 3 months of fasting. My pre diabetic status was reversed to normal. My vision was greatly improved, my depression and mood swings all gone. I felt beautiful inside and outside . Intermittent fasting is good for our general wellbeing. I stopped for some time my health deteriorated, I have resume with my fasting and I am doing great again. All thanks to Dr. Jason Fung
