Brought my 17' Camaro to a Chevrolet dealership this week. Asked for a transmission flush. They returned with a quote of $1100 CAD. I laughed in their face and told them ill go elsewhere. I did, and it cost only $300. Dealers charging criminal rates for basic service is a complete joke.
Bought my 2019 Mazda CX5 Signature with 2 miles on it. After 5 years and 75k miles, I have spent zero in repairs or fixes. Just replaced the factory brakes and tires with a combined cost of $1012. Everything still works as the day I bought it.
A well spent 15 minutes. At an average annual cost of zero dollars. Thanks
I like boring cars that don't stay in the shop all the time. My CRV is 16 years old and still rolling.
Why would care about depreciation? Buy it and keep it? The best way save money.
Your recommendations are spot on! I had a 2004 Honda bought brand new, for 14+ years and 251k+ miles. Only reason selling it finally was that it was going to need its third timing chain and repair cost finally was more than its resale value. I remember when we were buying it, my kids at the dealership checking out a floor model, crawling into the rear cargo and passenger areas checking it out, and then years later using my car to learn how to drive in!
