I'm glad they extended security updates for windows 10 for another year, but they probably only decided to do it because they can just assign a bot to do everything.

It's both horrifying and relieving to always hear about people dealing with bs of patch management and verifying that everything is working for ever end user. Even before this AI started to accelerate this, the amount of CVEs >8 is insane compared to 2020.

Its like I have a cut the length of my arm, Im bleeding like a fire hose, you go to get help, they give you a big box of Band-Aids, and say here you go your going to need all of these for the rest of your life.

yes. i work in such an environment. part of it too is we cant provision the hardware to replace the cloud servers that are legacy and we mostly migrated off. whats funny is one of the machines we want to replace we needed a mac mini for building and guess what even with the higher price from the past month they are mostly out of stock with lead times.

back in the day linux servers used to measure their uptime in years. patch updates? reboots? that things in production! DONT TOUCH.

Wow, that was an intense patch last night, took so long to install, updated about 20 servers, a huge number of fixes this month.
