I once watched a Japanese movie where a family of four apparently lost their home, and they were out on the streets of a large city. The husband and wife were carrying their most needed belongings and were pulling a cart with their two children in it. Ostensibly, the husband was trying to find their new home that he promised he had arranged, and all they had to do was to find it. Admitting to what in Japanese culture would mean that he failed as a husband, as a father, and indeed as a man was impossible for him. His wife probably understood that and continued to play her role in their unending plight. And so they walked on, occasionally returning to a place they had been at before. As best as I can recall, the film ended, and they were still walking. The AI pioneers need to consider how many more people are going to get hurt if they continue their charade.

.... If the compute is so vsluable, wouldn't they use it? By definition, if they are selling it, they think it is worth less than the price they are sell it for.
