Description

You always hear that you'll only get one, "Yes" for every hundred people you try to sell to. People focus on success, but generally avoid talking about the rejection. For every success you'll get ninety nine rejections that will range from simple dismissal to downright cruel. As a tech professional you have to be able to take rejection without making it personal, and be able to learn from the experience.

I applied to around 300 jobs and was averaging about 1-2 interviews (phone) a week. After a few months, I found my dream career.

Man, good you've brought up this topic. So many people have to deal with this. I call this also "the impostor syndrome". Good points. A lot of programmers will identify with it

30:28 it's not stupid. It's commonsense. It's a mindset. It's having evidence for that as being the normal thing to do. That's how I am because of what I decided to believe in from the school I went to. That's what many other people do and this can be seen on one of the videos that I commented on when someone was like "PERSONAL."

27:49 not only that, but when they get fixated on this thing (I have no idea what you're talking about here) they associate it with being very difficult if they're not getting what they want. That then moves on with them to other things and makes them less willing to want to try other things.

That last part about deciding who you want to deal with, I refer to that as the client you cannot afford to have. Great video.
