This is a model for research question specification, complex problem solving, innovation, complex dynamic coordination, etc. But many tasks that are not these specific highly intellectual ones, can be done by cheaper and faster models
This may be the first time in the last 2 years that we've seen an LLM establish such a large lead over its competitors. Unless OpenAI has a surprise in store
Just random tip. Install RTK or snip (they are CLI Proxies) to reduce the output for a whole bunch of common tools, which means fewer tokens used (up op 90% fewer tokens, depending on the tool). Works with all the typical agents. You're welcome.
Anthorpic had to do something for their IPO. Glad they did drop the prices and hopefully they will keep it in the subscription plans after June 22nd!
The cost and speed are important factors as well don't forget. A lot of tasks can be accomplished with cheaper and faster models so there is tradeoff here.
Who'd have thunk burning more compute and tokens leads to better performance and my wallet getting drained.
We are heading toward a new class divide in AI, where ordinary people can no longer afford ever-rising subscriptions and API plans, especially when prices are increasingly disconnected from wage growth, only individuals or companies with substantial capital can fully benefit from the most advanced LLMs like Claude Fable 5, GPT-5.5 Pro and future most advanced models. This is new class of inequality and discrimination IMO.
The whole loop discussion reminds me alot of vibe OS, maybe the sarcastic project was spot-on for where it is going...
So now, they work on Opus 5, Sonnet 5, haiku 5 which are pruned/distilled versions of fable 5? Hope so!
Very good sir. Thanks Muhammad. What Uni did you get your PhD? How can we not choose the new model when its as good or even 15% better. We all have AI Psychosis. Like Confluents LLMento video.
