You wanna know how much Messi is loved by his teammates? Martinez scores the winning goal and nobody goes to celebrate with him. They all run to hug Messi.

I've had the privilege of watching Messi since he was 17. The Messi we see today is maybe 60% of the athlete he was a decade or so ago. He no longer has the explosiveness and acceleration that allowed him to carry the ball over long distances and leave a trail of defenders behind him. Having said that, his footballing IQ (the greatest I've ever seen) is at its zenith and his technical skills have not diminished. Consequently, he can still produce a 15-25 minute display wherein he beats players over short distances and either provides an inch-perfect pass or shot that ends the game. I wish everyone got to watch him at his apex - words cannot describe some of the things he produced every single match day.

Messi is the goat. We watched this with Brady. Until that clock hits 0:00. It’s not over.
