Not easy to talk about global economic policy in your second or third language. Bravo and thank you! ❤
Holy Shit Ha-Joon Chang!! What a Pull! Easily one of the world’s best thinkers, I love the way you’re pushing this message! Showing the people, in a multitude of ways, from multiple voices; The SYSTEM IS BROKEN!
Ha-joon is the first economist I read. His books are accessible, clear and even funny because he uses humour at times. So thank you Ha-joon for making a literature specialist interested in economics! 👌.
Gosh, Gary, it's so fantastic to see Prof. Chang on your channel. He is one of my absolute favourites! More and more strength to this movement!
Honestly, all this could be part of a strategy in which market crashes are perceived as chances for the ultra-rich to acquire assets at reduced prices. In the midst of the economic chaos, those with substantial capital tend to benefit disproportionately during periods of volatility
I think Ha-Joon Chang succinctly summed up the entire world's main problem in one sentence. "The American financial system is parasitic". Thank you for the great information on the positives and negatives of Tarrif use.
Ha-joon was my professor at uni. The guy had the smallest office in the entire economics department, which was mostly orthodox. One of the few people putting out fresh ideas in the field of development economics. Top lad and great economist, glad you had him on.
The movement is gaining momentum. In Gary we trust!
Wish these types of conversations become mainstream... reminds me of those old school black and white interviews where people have intelligent, level headed, and most importantly, valuable conversations that help even regular people at least contextualize what motivations drive the decisions made by the powers that be.
Anytime you can get Ha-Joon Chang on, please do. He’s a fantastically honest economist who explains things very well.
