Should you be scared of the bond markets?

We live in a goddamn oligarchy. And I don’t think anyone has the stomach and tenacity to destroy them.

Gary’s Economics is my Sunday digest. I love listening to you and how you explain how economics works. I wish I had learnt about this in school.

Warren Buffett famously stated, "You absolutely never want to be in a position where tomorrow morning you have to depend on the kindness of strangers." Thats exactly the position we are in the Bond Markets lirerally control government spending limits and cost.

Dear Gary, you are a gem! Excellent excellent info that I find finally sinking in to an ordinary person. Please don’t give up as it’s all coming to a tipping point soon. Palantir just paid 8% tax in the UK. We have given our country away for pennies. I don’t see any government bright sparks either able or willing to do the job. Being informed is essential and you’re doing a great job doing that, thank you 🙏

Wealth inequality significantly hinders democracy. People for some reason may choose to not care about wealth inequality, but everyone should care about the strength of their vote!
