It's not that Russia isn't living up to western standards, it's that Russia is not degenerating to western standards.

It will take the West a very long time to come to terms with the idea that the West would've benefited greatly by more inclusive relations with Russia. And now that Russia looks East and South, the West only further demonizes this country. Yet the West itself is responsible for its own decline.

Rather obvious that there are different civilisations. No country outside the west likes western universalism.
