Whenever an Expert prefaces his opinions that Maduro's regime was authoritarian or corrupt without mentioning Western Sanctions or Lifting people out of Poverty or handing Guns to Citizen Militia or Elections were certified by Foreign Independent observers, my ears tune out & my mind thinks Psyop.

The main reason for Venezuela's economic problems was the U.S. primary and secondary sanctions that were designed to cripple their economy by completely cutting them off from global trade. The reason China, Russia, and Iran were trading with Venezuela is that those are the only 3 countries who are willing to bypass U.S.- imposed sanctions by bartering with Venezuela, thereby circumventing the banks which are the tools of implementing sanctions.

Let's say the quiet part out loud, "...so the US can exploit South America's resources without having to purchase them at their actual market value. But this is what the US has been about in South America for over a century now."
