John Mearsheimer: New World Order? US, China & Russia in the New Great Power Rivalry

The difference between China and US being that China is not trying to blokade US trade, and US is trying to prevent Chinese trade around the world. China is trading and competing peacefully, and winning. On the other hand, US cannot compete peacefully, and therefore is trying to get rid of competition by force.

Perhaps the real question is what can be done to contain the United States?

As an American, I think that the country which needs to be contained isn't China. It's the United States.

In fairness, Mearsheimer's emphasis is in how the U.S. maintains its global hegemony not about equity or social justice

A big problem with the US being the hedgemon is they demand you be subservient to them and their needs above yours and even use you dry. China does not do that
