Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the spoilers we're going over one of the best movies ever. It's a film I've always loved and it ended up creating the summer blockbuster. The movie was initially supposed to drop christmas the year before but...as we'll go into there were difficulties making it. Thus it was pushed back to summer where films were typically just dumped. This is because studios just thought people wanted to be outside instead of sitting in a cinema. The term blockbuster also originated because there'd be lines around the block to get tickets. It completed altered the industry and paved the way for an entire release schedules. Back in the day you'd have a film open in a number of cinemas and then slowly roll out for general release. However Jaws opened in 460 theatres day one and Universal went big with the marketing.
