Alice in Borderland Season 3 Ending Explained and Season 4 Predictions
Discover the true meaning of the Borderland games, how Arisu secured his fate, and what the evidence of global disasters means for the impending "Alice in Borderland America."
Short Summary
- The Borderland is the immediate afterlife following a massive meteorite strike in Shibuya, where survivors played games to earn a second chance at life.
- Arisu rejected nihilism by choosing life, love, and the potential for happiness over the guaranteed relief from suffering offered by death.
- The Man in Black functions as a spiritual ferryman (Charon), judging the philosophical outcome of Arisu’s final choice regarding the Joker card path.
- Global environmental changes, specifically intense earthquakes, strongly predict the arrival of massive, worldwide games (Season 4).
- The finale sets up an American spin-off, likely focusing on a new protagonist named Alice caught near the San Andreas fault line rupture.
This breakdown explains the metaphysical conclusion of Arisu’s arc, clarifying his role as the ultimate player facing choices between predetermined fate and free will. Understand the connection between the Joker card, near-death experiences, and why the series is now pointing toward worldwide disaster scenarios.

Imagine dying in squid games then waking up in borderlands
I think Netflix is forcing these American parts. I don't like it at all.
SO many last season of Squid Games parallels this season. From the more grounded games, to the baby being counted as a player, and then finally the teasing of a spin-off in America.
Honestly, I’m just happy to see Chisiya, even if it’s only for a few seconds. I know he can’t really come back because of his health condition, but it makes me feel like he’s doing okay, hopefully getting better soon.
The ending in LA was eye roll worthy. It didn’t need to be the end scene. Felt so far removed from the show we have just watched.
it should have ended when he was counseling and talking to all his old friends from original games. that would have been a great ending with the greatest character, chishiya
Was anyone else expecting Usagi’s dad to be the joker? I was expecting that to be the twist since episode 2.
I'm surprised that the camera didn't pan up and reveal that Alice was Cate Blanchett.
My main question throughout this season was “ WHY?”. Wtf did Usagi go back to the games? It makes no sense. She could have just gone to therapy
