This was in order to get her to step away from the darkside and the feeling that she had over Anakins fall to the darkside. We saw in the battle with Baylan that he tapped into that and focused on it in order to make her lose her cool. - This ended up with her going down an angrier route and Anakin had clearly become a weakness for her. MT has done a big video breaking down the lesson behind this but basically she needed some closure and to remember that he wasn't just the evil man that he eventually turned into.
