My sister is battling cancer for the third time. I went to visit her in the hospital yesterday. She is truly at peace with her eventual exit from this place and is more concerned with her children and grandchildren and how they will cope with it. Tomorrow is not promised for any of us. Live accordingly. 🕊
The biggest misconception that hinders us is that we think we have time. Every day is a blessing. Do not waste them. ❤
I buried my dog today. He was my best friend. Wise words, Jim. Count your blessings and be grateful. Everything is temporary.
I can sit for hours and just watch the birds and other critters in my garden. It makes me so happy to know so many animals feel it is a safe place. I keep the birdbath filled and I know generations of birds and squirrels have made it a regular stop in their day.
The first lesson I learned was that people die. My mom smoked my pops when I was young. She sold and shot heroin. He shot pool for a living and was a violent alcoholic. Things got heated one day and she did what she felt she needed to do. I wound up in foster care. I've lived in cars, ate toast and mayonnaise sandwiches, and have seen life from all angles (including climbing out of the gutter to become a C Level executive). What I've learned in my 50+ years is no one knows a damn thing. Everyone is chasing security and stability that doesn't actually exist in the long run. Ride life's rollercoaster with your arms in the air, because gripping the crossbar doesn't change the outcome 💯
Stage 4 cancer survivor here, every day is a blessing.
If you are healthy and feel relaxed and comfortable that is pretty much as good as it's ever gonna get.
Detaching from the matrix and building my relationship with god is my main priority in life
I really miss the 70’s and 80’s
I'm 51. About a year ago I lost my job in tech and I haven't been able to find another job. Thousands of customized resumes, reaching out to my network, nothing. Around the same time, I took up Jiu Jitsu. I figured I finally have the time, might as well learn something new. I decided to pursue a path in fitness, which has always been a passion of mine. Got my certifications, and got a new job starting this week. I will make a fraction of the money, but you know what's crazy? I don't care. Who needs all the fancy cars, fake friends, fake parties with fake people. I just want to help people get healthy and train Jiu Jitsu. I don't care about anything else. These are the things that make me happy.
